Susan G. Morrison
Susan Morrison merged her statewide law practice with the law firm of O’Hanlon, Demerath & Castillo on June 1st. She represents public and private schools and colleges in employment, construction, litigation, constitutional law, and special education matters. Susan also assists employers with investigations, contracts, training, and staying out of the court house. Susan enjoys training employees in Prevention of Sexual Harassment & Discrimination, Legal Issues in Special Education and School Personnel Documentation.
Before joining the O’Hanlon firm, Susan served Of Counsel to various law firms and ran her own statewide law practice for over 20 years. Prior to private law practice, Susan served as Assistant General Counsel for the Texas Education Agency. She earned her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Texas at Austin and her J.D. from Baylor University, School of Law.
Susan has been the recipient of multiple recognitions for her voter education & volunteerism including the Secretary of State’s Outstanding Service Award for voter registration and the Travis County Women Lawyers’ Outstanding Achievement Award. She currently serves on the board of the League of Women Voters-TX, and on the advisory council for Communities in Schools (the most successful drop-out prevention program in Central Texas).
Her husband, John, is amazed that she still finds time to hike, bike, cook and garden with him. She is a native of San Angelo, Texas and sometimes has to ask her East Texas husband to spell out the words he is mispronouncing. You will find them kayaking on the Llano River and Lady Bird Lake at least once a month. And recently, they became bee keepers in their Austin backyard.
