Kristi Godden

After graduating from law school at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law in 2011, Ms. Godden joined the Open Records Division at the Office of the Attorney General of Texas. As an Assistant Attorney General, Ms. Godden’s practice focused on the confidentiality of governmental records under the Texas Public Information Act, as well as federal and state law. Ms. Godden was a frequent speaker at the Texas Open Government Conference. As an associate at O’Hanlon, Demerath & Castillo, Ms. Godden continues to specialize in issues involving the confidentiality and maintenance of government records, including records retention; FERPA and student records; and accessibility of records as required by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and their implementing regulations. Ms. Godden has also worked on a range of issues including personnel matters, contracts, open government, and litigation. She is admitted to practice throughout Texas, and in all federal district courts in Texas.
