Public Policy Litigation
PUBLIC POLICY LITIGATION
Generally, public policy responds to political will as expressed through the Legislature. Our firm has registered lobbyists who have successfully represented many public clients in the legislative arena. We routinely track education and finance legislation. From this prospective, we are well situated to monitor developments in the Texas Legislature, and to monitor and review changes in Texas public school law recommended by the South Texas Schools Association or the Texas Association of School Boards General Assembly of Delegates. This enables us to advise client districts on both substantive issues and legislative strategies.
Our experience includes both litigation on behalf of the State of Texas, as well as lecturing extensively and advising districts of their obligation to meet court requirements in the area of student assignments, personnel practices, extracurricular activities, student transfers and school district boundary changes. We remain on the cutting edge of developments in civil rights law and litigation.
