Biography
A proud South Texas native from Palmview, Eric D. Flores embodies integrity, community, and service—a dedication forged by the close-knit values of the border region he calls home. Over the course of his distinguished legal career, Eric has excelled at the federal, municipal, and private practice levels, consistently championing the highest standards of justice and accountability. During his tenure as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of Texas, Eric held a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance and prosecuted complex white-collar fraud, embezzlement, public corruption, and immigration cases—earning two U.S. Attorney’s Awards, the 2024 HSI Prosecutor of the Year distinction, and special commendation from the IRS Criminal Investigations Division. Recognized for his deep expertise in financial crimes and asset forfeiture, he was invited by the Department of Justice’s Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Section to teach internationally, helping shape global anti-money laundering policies.
Beyond his federal service, Eric has demonstrated exceptional leadership as a City Attorney, Associate Municipal Court Judge, and Partner in private practice, providing strategic counsel on ethics, compliance, litigation, and governance. He is a Texas Certified City Attorney who focuses on supporting Texas cities, school districts, and other governmental entities with incisive legal guidance. Eric’s thought leadership in government law has led to invitations on numerous legal panels and the authorship of an article for the Texas Bar Journal, contributing to proactive policies that fortify public trust and uphold the rule of law.
Parallel to his legal achievements, Eric served for over a decade in the Texas Army National Guard, commanding an Infantry Rifle Company and leading large-scale border security and pandemic response operations. His outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to service earned him two Meritorious Service Medals and the prestigious Order of Saint Maurice. Eric graduated magna cum laude from Thurgood Marshall School of Law, following his recognition as a Distinguished Military Graduate at The University of Texas at Austin. Today, he remains devoted to advancing justice and strengthening the communities he serves—and he is, above all, a proud Longhorn!
